List of Arsons in Oregon and Washington-9/2020

[to be unpdated as more information comes available]

67 arsons in 29 incidents. (These 66 arsons do not equal 66 significant fires.)

On Saturday, the National Interagency Fire Center reported that 97 fires have burned 4.7 million acres across the west, evacuation orders are in place for 40 large fires in California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Idaho, and Utah.

This list excludes the perhaps 20,000 Black Lives Matter/ANTIFA arsons of recent months. Portland has probably had 5000 Black Lives Matter/ANTIFA arson fires in the 100-plus days of riots. Within mnutes of the fires starting, several police agencies and the FBI warned, after exhaustive investigations that will presumably take place in the future, that none of the arsonists are ANTIFA.

Yet: A federal law enforcement source shared with Law Enforcement Today that the feds are looking into whether some of the cases are linked together… and warn there could be more “attacks”: “We are reacting to a coordinated series of attempts to start fires anywhere and everywhere in Oregon. Public and Private lands, incorporated and unincorporated areas. By all indications so far in the preliminary stages of these investigations there is a coordinated effort on the part of these individuals to start fires in areas that are the least protected and most vulnerable then slowing working their way into more populated areas and neighborhoods. Please take this information as an advisory for you own account and welfare and please act in good faith with due diligence to plan accordingly for your own safety and the well being of your community.” (

Note: Where a report says :”several” we assume 3 even though it will usually be many more (e.g., one arsonist in a Utah National Park started 14 fires). Includes one non-arson (not counted as an incident), the Lynnwood multiple power-pole cutting by chainsaw.
